This state-of-the-art power base is a 208cc OHV, all-season 4-cycle engine. The rugged Latch 'n Lock' system has endured the Troy-Bilt® test of quality, with hundreds of hours of accelerated use - and is fully integrated with a self-propelled transmission for easy operation.
It is recommended to always inspect the oil before each use and every 5 hours of operation. Changing the oil is required after every 50 hours of use or every season. If the engine has not run in the past 30 days, the fuel should also be changed, to prevent the potential corrosion to engine parts caused by ethanol. When the oil should be changed, make sure that the engine is upright and level.
Instructions
Step 1:
To change the oil, first remove the safety key.
Step 2:
Carefully, disconnect the spark plug wire keeping it away from the spark plug.
Step 3:
Unscrew the oil fill cap dipstick to reduce suction.
Step 4:
To drain the oil, locate the oil drain plug on the rear of the power base. Place the oil drain pan or approved oil container underneath the oil drain plug.
Step 5:
Carefully, remove the bolt on the plug using a 3/8" wrench and the oil will begin to drain.Dispose of used oil properly.
Step 6:
Now, to re-fill the oil, replace the oil drain bolt into the oil drain tube. Use fresh 10W30 oil for warm weather or 5W30 for cold weather.
Step 7:
Slowly fill with the recommended oil. Do NOT overfill oil, and be sure to wipe away any spilled oil.
Step 8:
Finally, check the oil level by replacing the dipstick and removing it. The oil level should be between the high (H) and low (L) marks on the dipstick. Add more if needed.
Step 9:
Once the proper oil level has been confirmed, install and securely tighten the oil fill cap.
Step 10:
Carefully reconnect the spark plug wire to the spark plug.
Step 11:
Re-install the safety key.
Instructions
Step 1:
To remove the fuel, run the machine dry, then drain the remaining fuel through the carburetor.
Step 2:
Remove the safety key.
Step 3:
Carefully, disconnect the spark plug wire keeping it away from the spark plug.
Step 4:
Remove the tethered fuel cap and fill the fuel tank with clean, fresh gasoline that has a minimum octane level of 87, such as TRUFUEL 4-Cycle Gasoline. Add a fuel stabilizer, like STA-BIL, to ensure gasoline remains fresh and helps prevent engine corrosion.
Step 5:
Carefully reconnect the spark plug wire to the spark plug.
Step 6:
Re-install the safety key.
